If you have been waiting for a weekend when Redlands offers too many choices rather than too few, October 9 through 11 is a strong candidate.

The weekend brings together beer-hall energy, family theater, a classic ghost story and the region’s biggest pumpkin-patch experience.

Saturday’s centerpiece for many adults will be Oktoberfest at Hangar 24 Redlands.

The all-day October 10 event features German-style beer, food, music and traditional games.

Families can head in a different direction with Jack and the Beanstalk, opening at LifeHouse Theater that evening.

For something darker, The Haunting of Hill House adds a ghost-story option to the same Saturday night.

Live Oak Canyon Pumpkin Farm is another natural weekend anchor, with pumpkins, rides, games, food and a corn maze.

Because the farm’s schedule varies, confirm the operating calendar before driving out.

The monthly Redlands events calendar also lists smaller activities around town.

The smartest plan is to choose one anchor event and build the rest of the day around it.

That leaves time for downtown dining, coffee or an unplanned stop without turning the weekend into a race.

Whatever direction you choose, October 9–11 is a weekend when staying local is unlikely to feel like settling.
